DEBAJO

DEBAJO

Y tal vez te acostumbres

a la efectividad

de la muerte

Pero no a la resignación

de los difuntos

Puedes usar

ese manto despiadado

de dragón piromaníaco

Pero debajo se oculta

la frágil queratina

Miramos en paz

las lluvias suaves

sin imaginar las tormentas

Sentimos el amor

de las cosas buenas

sin suponer

que bajo la inocente roca

acecha la escolopendra

y el escorpión también

BELOW

And perhaps you will grow accustomed

to the efficiency of death

But not to the resignation

of the dead

You may wear

that ruthless mantle

of a pyromaniac dragon

But beneath it hides

fragile keratin

We gaze in peace

at the gentle rains

without imagining the storms

We feel the love

of good things

without suspecting

that beneath the innocent rock

the centipede lies in wait

and the scorpion too
