we can make a small missile

or a scorpion stinger

And with the S some good detonators

We will pour into the U

some radioactive substances

And let's deflate all the O's

We will give the L a good edge

to use it as a scythe

all consonants

in sanity and reason

we will be satisfied

Emerald waves ripple

between the rippling tides

of light and chlorophyll

The flowers invoke the wind

their colors fade

and dilute their fragrances

in pollen lures

Sandstone fuses into tepuy

the tepuy in whipped illusions

through the clouds

that blow in the afternoon

in search of the Orinoco

where the Piaroas prepare their hooks

and the shadows boast of their freshness

under the morichales

Not of the human the stars

Of few humans, the snow, the desert and the jungle

Only of the human are the countryside and the city

with their machines and tools

That are just utensils

Ni siquiera voy a mencionar al nieto del lacayo

Que desprecia al negro realengo y al incivilizado indio

Ni a la corporación minera que también hace el oficio del leñador

Mucho menos al diplomático juez ante la corte del rey

Y solo de pasada mencionaré a los larvarios países ajolotes

Exportadores de oro petróleo y plátanos

Y a sus reyecitos y corsarios drogados de selva y océano

Buscadores de El Dorado alérgicos al estudio y el trabajo

Solo me queda esperar que de verdad estemos listos ya

Para que las banderas de la libertad vuelvan a galopar

Miles de kilómetros de verde pastizal

Y nuestros caballos abrevarán en mil ríos
